I like to create art because I enjoy seeing my ideas become concrete visual entities. I began as a painter and gradually added collage to extend the range of artistic possibilities. I generally work with one idea until by the end of four variations, it has been exhausted.
I love to use diverse materials, the more mundane the better. Brown wrapping paper, rope, twine, paper flowers, and cardboard are a few of my favorites.
Flora’s work has been included in group shows at Las Lagunas, Blue Seven, Barrette Galleries and through the American Collage Society and Mirrors of the Mind, the Mind of the Psychotherapist. In addition, she has completed a commission at the Lucile Packard Hospital. Flora continues to show at exhibitions sponsored by the Los Angeles Art Association.
