SUSAN CONNELL

I have found solace and inspiration in the delicate beauty of nature, particularly in the timeless elegance of flowers. My artistic journey has been a lifelong exploration of the intricate dance between line and form, as I strive to capture floral compositions in a modern and captivating manner.

With each stroke of the brush and carefully crafted line, I seek to convey the vitality and spirit inherent in the blossoming petals and graceful stems that have been my muses for decades. My work, though rooted in the timeless tradition of floral art, takes on a contemporary flair, revealing the evolution of my creativity over the years.

Ms. Connell is a 1963 graduate of Colorado Women’s College, where she received a BA degree, and a 1965 graduate of the Claremont Graduate School, where she studied under Phil Dike and Paul Darrow and received an MFA degree. She has taught studio classes and art history at schools and in private classes. For a number of years she has worked with guidance from Tom Wudl, a well-known West Coast master painter, gathering with other artists in his studio.
