My digital collages are inspired by the otherworldly landscapes of the Southern California desert and abandoned towns, as well as my journey through a time of personal and cultural transition. Using original photographs of goats and sheep that I have shot in these environments, I create dreamy, colorful images that explore themes of space, dimensions, spirituality, abandonment, and loneliness.
Monica Leal Cueva is originally from Monterrey, Mexico, working and living in Los Angeles. Monica is an artist and photographer mainly working in digital form. Monica is partner at Tom Wudl Studio LLC and owns her own photography and web design business for artists. She was previously assistant to Tom Wudl for 10 years. Monica has exhibited in Los Angeles including Lois Lambert Gallery and Susan Barrett Gallery.
